Review of “The Skinny on Fat”

Monday, November 16th, 2009

There are a lot of weight loss products out there from pills, to diets, to ebooks. 75% of Americans are overweight and we have the highest amount of obese people on the planet, so millions of people are desperately trying to lose weight. Have you lost some weight, but haven’t been able to lose anymore or just end up gaining weight again? This book will tell you why.

Unfortunately, too many people have the info all wrong and are sick of memberships, pills, fad diets, and wacky diets. You don’t need pills or diets. You need the TRUTH. All the truth, the good, the bad, and the ugly. Knowing the truth, you won’t need to take any pills, join Weight Watchers or Jenny Craig, go on a brand new fad diet, follow some wacky meal plan, or go to your doctor about a prescription weight loss pill.

Your eyes will be opened and you will see things in a new way.

The author of The Skinny on Fat, Sally Taylor, is as honest, blunt, and upfront as they come. This isn’t some boring rehash of everything you’ve already heard before-diet and exercise. This contains no fad diets or wacky and dumb diet plans. This isn’t something promoting any kind of membership or pills. This isn’t written by someone who has no clue what they’re talking about.

Thankfully this isn’t some book full of weird or difficult and unnecessary diets such as the cookie diet, cabbage soup diet, or raw food diet. People who want to lose weight are sick of hearing about the latest fad diet. You’ve heard of Atkins, the South Beach diet, the Cookie diet, thte cabbage soup diet, the grapefruit diet and you’re sick of it. You want real information, besides the common stuff you already know, to tell you ways to shed those pounds.

I could write something that says will “guarantee” your weight loss and say only eat apples, celery and only drink water. Yeah, you’d lose weight, but who’s going to do that, not to mention it will turn you sick from lack of nutrition.

I once read a book from the library-something about eating more and weighing less-but what I didn’t know was that this books plan was a vegetarian diet-with NO nuts and nothing with more than a few fat grams. Well duh, if you only eat vegetables and beans and in small portions you’re going to lose weight. But this isn’t realistic. Who’s going to do that? Umm, vegetarians need protein since they don’t eat meat and this book actually tells you not to eat any nuts or seeds! What?!

You see how much crappy and wrong information is out there?

So if you’re sick of wacky diet plans and want to lose weight, you need to learn the straight up, blunt truth about several factors and busting myths you may have by someone who knows what they are talking about and knows more than most nutritionists. You will have the real information you need, by someone who isn’t trying to sell you any extras, by someone who eats like a pig and is very thin.

As the ebook says, Fat is a symptom, not the problem or the cause. Learn what is causing you to have the horrible symptom of fat and things you’ve never known before.

Instead of waiting for a book to arrive at your door or going to a bookstore, you can have instant gratification and knowledge with an instant download.

The ebook is a one time payment of less than $20, about the cost of a new book, but the information it contains is more than worth it and think of all you’ll save by never buying a diet pill again and never having to join any clubs or memberships.

There’s no “fancy” (yet annoying) talking sales people on the site, no videos, nothing flashy, nothing that looks commercial. It’s very simple, like the book is straight forward.

I can say I DO NOT recommend Eating More and Weighing Less (if that’s even the title, that books so dumb it’s not worth remembering) and I wouldn’t recommend anything I didn’t like because I have been fighting to loose weight and still am making changes in my life to loose weight. I am sure this book will make my weight loss quicker and of course my health improved.

Effective Weight Loss Programs That Really Work

Monday, April 20th, 2009

Finding an effective weight loss plan can be challenging when you consider that there are so many fad diets, weight loss supplements and rumors about weight loss available. Losing weight is a process, and when done correctly will be one that won’t be as challenging as you may think. These tips will help you find an effective weight loss program that will really work to help you lose weight and keep it off.

Watching Your Diet

An effective weight loss program will focus on your diet, and will help you find the foods that leave you satisfied without adding more calories than you really need. There are a wide variety of foods that can be prepared creatively to satisfy any craving, even if you have a sweet tooth or love to snack on salty foods. Each aspect of your diet is important when you want to lose weight.

You can find many sources for information online that can give you advice on finding the foods that satisfy your cravings. The most effective weight loss plan will consider the foods that you love, and even make small allowances for them. As long as you consume these foods in moderation, and only occasionally, you can still lose weight and not suffer from cravings.

Adding the Exercise

Any effective weight loss program will advise you to exercise regularly. There are dozens of ways that you can lose weight, without the struggle of working out for long periods of time. Many weight loss experts advise beginning your weight loss program by exercising for about five minutes three or four times a day, and then gradually increasing the amount of time until you are working out for about one hour a day.

An effective weight loss program will also advise that you continue exercising after you have reached your weight loss goals. Even though you may want to stop exercising, your energy levels are related to the amount of exercise that you do on a daily basis. Without exercise, you will soon see the pounds coming back, and may feel so frustrated that you give up on losing weight for good. Even a few minutes a day is better than no exercise, so make sure that you take the time to walk, run or even take the stairs rather than the elevator.

Choosing Your Plan

There are many pre-made diet plans that can work, but to choose an effective weight loss plan you will want to make sure that you see diet and exercise included. You may also be given a supplement, which is also a good addition to your diet plan. Remember that it may take as long as two weeks for even the most effective weight loss plan to begin working, and stick with the plan until you see results. It is possible that you will meet your goals quickly by following these simple tips.

Being Active Is Not Just For Weight Loss

Thursday, April 9th, 2009

When you’re trying to lose weight, you know that exercise or burning off those calories is a key ingredient in doing this.

But it’s not just weight you’ll lose when you start being more physically active. There’s more benefits as well.

When you are more active, you’ll sleep better and have more energy. Sleeping better means you’ll feel better when you get up and having more energy means you’ll have an easier time burning off those calories. You won’t get tired so easy.

You gotta start somewhere, so even if it’s baby steps, get off the couch and do something physical whether it be going on a walk, vacuuming your stairs, organizing your closet, or playing with kids.

More Ways To Get Your Sweets and Still Lose Weight

Wednesday, March 25th, 2009

Almost everyone craves sweets. There may be a few weirdos who don’t. The problem is, sweets usually are very high in calories and fat. And we’re not even talking about sugar here.

But you can still lose weight and have sweets. In the previous post, I talked about Cookie Crisp cereal as a way to satisfy your sweets craving.

There are a few more options to get your sweets without the tons of fat and calories like that, that would be in cake or brownies.

Chocolate chip granola bars. They have only around 100 calories each, so it’s a good sweet choice. There is even some that have 25% less sugar in them.

South Beach Diet meal bars. You can get them in chocolate peanut butter, or whatever your preferred flavor is. They aren’t as good as say, a candy bar, but they are much more healthy, have all the vitamins and healthy stuff your  body needs and you get your sweet craving.

Slim Fast Optima snack bars. These are good and taste just like candy bars, problem is, they are so tiny. I wouldn’t recommend these unless you only want a tiny amount of something sweet. The chocolate chip granola bars are bigger than these.

So there you have some ways to satisfy your sweet tooth while you are losing weight.

Exercising and Burning Off Calories At Home

Tuesday, January 6th, 2009

Don’t have a gym membership? Don’t have any exercise equipment? You can still exercise, get a good work out and burn those calories at home. There are several ways.

*Dancing-Turn on some music and dance, dance, dance.

*Jumping Jacks-You can do these anywhere and they are good for burning off those calories.

*Sit ups and Push ups-You can also do these anywhere, anytime

*Aerobics/Work out DVD-You can get a work out DVD and work out in front of the TV.

*Housework-It may be called cleaning or house work, but it still burns off those calories. Vacuum, sweep, mop, do laundry, dust, wipe down everything. Not only are you getting a clean house, but you are also burning calories.

*Run up and down stairs-If you have stairs in your home, run up and down them 10 times in a row. That will give you a good work out.

*Lifting dumbbells-You can get 10lb (or whatever weight) dumbbells and lift them everyday. They are inexpensive compared to exercise equipment.
