Don’t Eat Diet Foods

Friday, May 7th, 2010

Diet foods are for fat people. And they will keep you fat unless you plan on staying on diet foods your entire life, which is not realistic or good.

You know those diet foods and programs. There are all different types. There’s those commercials were you order diet meals you microwave. These are those meal bars and shakes. This is a huge industry. Billions of dollars worth. If these diet food programs were successful then about 3 out of 4 Americans would not be overweight.

The vast majority of people who go on these diet foods will not be successful. Even if you pay attention to the ads where they show someone who has lost of weight, you will read “Results are not typical. Individual results will vary.”

Remember-Diet foods are for fat people. You will not lose a lot of weight and keep it off if you go on these diets.

First of all, have you seen the size of those so called “meal bars?” You almost need a microscope to see them. They are smaller than an appetizer. What person with a large appetite will be able to eat one of those minature meal bars and not be starving afterwards? That’s one reason these diets don’t work. People who try them starve so they end up eating like they are used to and feel like a failure. Don’t feel like a failure if you have tried one of these diets but haven’t been successful because it’s not realistic or healthy to eat some stupid tiny little bar for a meal. That’s not a real meal.

Secondly even if you are able to stick to one of these ridiculous diets and lose weight, as soon as you go back to real food you will gain back all the weight you lose. How many people have lost 10 pounds or so on one of these ridiculous diet food programs just to end up gaining 20 pounds?

It’s a merry-go-round. It’s a terrible and frustrating, never ending cycle. These products are made to make big money. And it’s working because it’s a multi billion dollar industry. If people were able to lose weight, keep it off and eat real food, they would go out of business.

If you want to lose weight and keep it off, steer clear of these diet foods. Stay far, far away. It’s about making lifestyle changes, not diet foods.

As unglamorous and boring as it sounds, fix yourself moderate portions of healthy food for meals. You won’t be starving afterwards like eating some little bar or some diet shake, it’s healthier, and cheaper and it works for the long term.

Instead of a meal bar that you can inhale in one bite for example, fix brown rice, baked fish, and a salad. That meal is very low fat, healthy, and won’t leave you hungry afterwards.

Small Changes to your Diet Can Produce Results

Sunday, March 7th, 2010

The idea of a diet is depressing for many who want to lose weight because they think of depriving themselves, going hungry or eating nothing but salads.

But just making a few important changes to your diet can product results you’ll like.

Stop eating fried foods. You can still eat a hearty, delicious meal that’s not fried. No deprivation, no starvation, and no rabbit food. Just cut out all fried foods.

Stop eating fast foods. If you can’t stop from eating fast food, then choose a healthy alternative such as a turkey sandwich from Subway. But no cheeseburgers, french fries, chicken nuggets or any of those common fast foods.

Only snack on fresh veggies. Try to cut out snacking between meals, but if you get hungry, chomp on some fresh vegetables like carrot sticks, cauliflower, and celery. It will tide over your hunger until meal time without adding fat. Plus it’s healthy.

These are three small and simple rules, but if you eat fried foods, fast foods and snack between meals, stopping these habits will help out a lot.

Review of “The Skinny on Fat”

Monday, November 16th, 2009

There are a lot of weight loss products out there from pills, to diets, to ebooks. 75% of Americans are overweight and we have the highest amount of obese people on the planet, so millions of people are desperately trying to lose weight. Have you lost some weight, but haven’t been able to lose anymore or just end up gaining weight again? This book will tell you why.

Unfortunately, too many people have the info all wrong and are sick of memberships, pills, fad diets, and wacky diets. You don’t need pills or diets. You need the TRUTH. All the truth, the good, the bad, and the ugly. Knowing the truth, you won’t need to take any pills, join Weight Watchers or Jenny Craig, go on a brand new fad diet, follow some wacky meal plan, or go to your doctor about a prescription weight loss pill.

Your eyes will be opened and you will see things in a new way.

The author of The Skinny on Fat, Sally Taylor, is as honest, blunt, and upfront as they come. This isn’t some boring rehash of everything you’ve already heard before-diet and exercise. This contains no fad diets or wacky and dumb diet plans. This isn’t something promoting any kind of membership or pills. This isn’t written by someone who has no clue what they’re talking about.

Thankfully this isn’t some book full of weird or difficult and unnecessary diets such as the cookie diet, cabbage soup diet, or raw food diet. People who want to lose weight are sick of hearing about the latest fad diet. You’ve heard of Atkins, the South Beach diet, the Cookie diet, thte cabbage soup diet, the grapefruit diet and you’re sick of it. You want real information, besides the common stuff you already know, to tell you ways to shed those pounds.

I could write something that says will “guarantee” your weight loss and say only eat apples, celery and only drink water. Yeah, you’d lose weight, but who’s going to do that, not to mention it will turn you sick from lack of nutrition.

I once read a book from the library-something about eating more and weighing less-but what I didn’t know was that this books plan was a vegetarian diet-with NO nuts and nothing with more than a few fat grams. Well duh, if you only eat vegetables and beans and in small portions you’re going to lose weight. But this isn’t realistic. Who’s going to do that? Umm, vegetarians need protein since they don’t eat meat and this book actually tells you not to eat any nuts or seeds! What?!

You see how much crappy and wrong information is out there?

So if you’re sick of wacky diet plans and want to lose weight, you need to learn the straight up, blunt truth about several factors and busting myths you may have by someone who knows what they are talking about and knows more than most nutritionists. You will have the real information you need, by someone who isn’t trying to sell you any extras, by someone who eats like a pig and is very thin.

As the ebook says, Fat is a symptom, not the problem or the cause. Learn what is causing you to have the horrible symptom of fat and things you’ve never known before.

Instead of waiting for a book to arrive at your door or going to a bookstore, you can have instant gratification and knowledge with an instant download.

The ebook is a one time payment of less than $20, about the cost of a new book, but the information it contains is more than worth it and think of all you’ll save by never buying a diet pill again and never having to join any clubs or memberships.

There’s no “fancy” (yet annoying) talking sales people on the site, no videos, nothing flashy, nothing that looks commercial. It’s very simple, like the book is straight forward.

I can say I DO NOT recommend Eating More and Weighing Less (if that’s even the title, that books so dumb it’s not worth remembering) and I wouldn’t recommend anything I didn’t like because I have been fighting to loose weight and still am making changes in my life to loose weight. I am sure this book will make my weight loss quicker and of course my health improved.

NEVER Eat or Drink High Fructose Corn Syrup Again-It’s Evil

Saturday, November 14th, 2009

High fructose corn syrup is evil. Yes it is. If you want the easiest way to help lose weight and be healthier, never eat or drink anything with high fructose corn syrup in it again. It can be hard to diet, hard to exercise, but changing your foods and drinks to ones without high fructose corn syrup isn’t that hard. All you have to do is read labels every time you shop-and if you see the dreadful “high fructose corn syrup”-stay far, away. Don’t let it in your body.

In my opinion the FDA should ban high fructose corn syrup. It’s nothing but bad, promotes obesity, contains mercury, and foods and herbs even with medical, health or other benefits have been banned by the FDA.

Arizona tea has high fructose corn syrup. Don’t buy Arizona tea, and let the Arizona tea company know you won’t buy their teas until it’s free of that poison called high fructose corn syrup. And I thought tea was one of the healthiest things you could ingest. But not if it has high fructose corn syrup. That totally cancels out any health benefits.

The obesity epidemic began after high fructose corn syrup was put into our foods and drinks. Coincidence? I think not. This was way before internet, video games, chat rooms and all that.

Having a hard time losing weight? It could be because you are eating or drinking a fair amount of high fructose corn syrup.

Most Americans don’t even know what high fructose corn syrup is or even bother reading labels. Parents feed their children high fructose corn syrup regularly without knowing any better.

And it’s everywhere. I mean tea is supposed to be healthy, but it’s even in tea! Not all tea of course, if you’re a tea drinker, it’s best to buy tea bags of your favorite kind of tea and brew it yourself. It contains nothing but tea leaves and perhaps herbs or fruits.

Ragu and Presto spaghetti sauce have high fructose corn syrup. Smuckers jelly and jam has high fructose corn syrup. It’s everywhere! In everything! You have to carefully read labels to make sure you’re not poisoning your body and making it difficult to lose weight and easy to gain weight or remain overweight. I only buy jam called “Kentucky’s finest” because it’s all natural. It simply has the fruit in it, plus sugar to sweeten it and then pectin. No high fructose corn syrup, no weird chemicals, artificial flavors, or stuff you can’t pronounce. When you  buy jelly or jam read the label to make sure there’s only 3 ingredients in it and no high fructose corn syrup.

If you’re trying to lose weight but it seems impossible, even though you try not to eat things like cake, chips, and candy bars and try to go on walks but still can’t shed any extra pounds, you probably wonder what’s wrong with you. Maybe your metablism is slow. Maybe you have some undiagnosed medical condition. Or it could be because you are ingesting high fructose corn syrup even if you don’t know it or know what that is because it promotes weight gain and obesity and makes it extra hard to lose any weight.

If you want to know more about HFCS, there is reading out there, including articles about it killing honey bees and containing mercury and much more. If you want you and your family to be healthier, never buy anything containing high fructose corn syrup again. (If you drink soda, bad news, it’s loaded with HFCS, so you really should find another drink)

Here is one article with a youtube ad about HFCS-

Effective Weight Loss Programs That Really Work

Monday, April 20th, 2009

Finding an effective weight loss plan can be challenging when you consider that there are so many fad diets, weight loss supplements and rumors about weight loss available. Losing weight is a process, and when done correctly will be one that won’t be as challenging as you may think. These tips will help you find an effective weight loss program that will really work to help you lose weight and keep it off.

Watching Your Diet

An effective weight loss program will focus on your diet, and will help you find the foods that leave you satisfied without adding more calories than you really need. There are a wide variety of foods that can be prepared creatively to satisfy any craving, even if you have a sweet tooth or love to snack on salty foods. Each aspect of your diet is important when you want to lose weight.

You can find many sources for information online that can give you advice on finding the foods that satisfy your cravings. The most effective weight loss plan will consider the foods that you love, and even make small allowances for them. As long as you consume these foods in moderation, and only occasionally, you can still lose weight and not suffer from cravings.

Adding the Exercise

Any effective weight loss program will advise you to exercise regularly. There are dozens of ways that you can lose weight, without the struggle of working out for long periods of time. Many weight loss experts advise beginning your weight loss program by exercising for about five minutes three or four times a day, and then gradually increasing the amount of time until you are working out for about one hour a day.

An effective weight loss program will also advise that you continue exercising after you have reached your weight loss goals. Even though you may want to stop exercising, your energy levels are related to the amount of exercise that you do on a daily basis. Without exercise, you will soon see the pounds coming back, and may feel so frustrated that you give up on losing weight for good. Even a few minutes a day is better than no exercise, so make sure that you take the time to walk, run or even take the stairs rather than the elevator.

Choosing Your Plan

There are many pre-made diet plans that can work, but to choose an effective weight loss plan you will want to make sure that you see diet and exercise included. You may also be given a supplement, which is also a good addition to your diet plan. Remember that it may take as long as two weeks for even the most effective weight loss plan to begin working, and stick with the plan until you see results. It is possible that you will meet your goals quickly by following these simple tips.

Choosing the Weight Loss Plans That Will Work for You

Monday, April 20th, 2009

Weight loss plans will vary in their make-up, with some being more effective than others. Although it may be hard work in the beginning, the right weight loss plan will yield quicker results and won’t be too challenging for you at each stage of your weight loss plan. With the right weight loss plan, you will reach your weight loss goals more efficiently, without giving up along the way.

Features to Look For

When searching through potential weight loss plans, you will want to find several features that are often characteristic of those plans that really work to help you lose the weight and keep it off. Some of the features to look for include the flowing:

· Does the diet plan include a wide variety of foods? If not, you may want to look elsewhere. A varied diet will keep you from being bored, and help you stick to the diet plan.

· Are there allowances in the diet for occasional treats? Often, those who do not have the occasional treat in their diet will overindulge when they do have a special food.

· Do the weight loss plans emphasize exercise, even in small units? You will definitely want to find a plan that considers exercise a core component of losing weight.

· Will I have to purchase special foods or supplements? If you are not prepared for the costs associated with one particular diet plan, then you may want to find a more affordable one.

Losing weight can be simple with the right plan. Although there are many weight loss plans available both online and off, you will be able to find one that fits your personal needs with just a little time and research.

Creating Your Own

There are also weight loss plans that are fully customizable. You will wan to make sure that the foods that you choose are in healthful portions, and that you set aside some time each day to exercise. You can find food guides online that can show you the portion sizes that you should be having, with your personal nutritional guidelines guiding you in your choices. Typically, you will want to limit your calorie intake to around 1700 calories a day to lose weight.

Your weight loss plans will also include about an hour of exercise daily. You can break your sixty minutes of exercise up into smaller increments of time if you find that it is too physically challenging to work out for an hour. Many people find that five to ten minutes per session is much more manageable than working out for a full hour at a time. Your exercise plan can include walking, stair stepping or even vacuuming to help you lose weight.

Sticking To Your Plans

Your weight loss plans will help you lose weight more efficiently, but you will want to give the plans a few weeks to work before you give up. As long as you can stick to your sensible plans to lose weight, you will see results.

Choosing a Weight Loss System That Will Work for Your Personal Goals

Monday, April 20th, 2009

Finding a weight loss system that really works for your personal weight loss goals can be challenging when you do not know the basics of losing weight effectively. To find the right system for your personal needs can take a little time, but it will be worth it when you begin to see results with less time and effort.

What to Look For

When you want to find a weight loss system that really works, the most important feature to look for is controlling your diet. When you want to lose weight, your system should be one that helps you learn more about which foods are going to assist you in losing weight, and which will make the process more difficult. For example, proteins will help you build muscle as you exercise, which will in turn burn more fat from your body.

You will also want to look for a weight loss system that includes regular exercise. Even if you only exercise for a few minutes a day, you will notice a rapid improvement in the way that you feel. Exercising can help you burn calories, and will also give you more energy to do other things. Even though it may be challenging in the beginning, losing weight is centered around a sensible diet and exercise.

Pre-Planned System

There are weight loss systems that are already planned out for you, so that all you need to do is follow the plan according to the outline. These systems are an excellent idea if you have a busy lifestyle, and want to make meals for the week on one weekend afternoon. You may want to look for a weight loss system that allows you the occasional treat, however, so that you do not begin to feel deprived and overindulge on your favorite treat.

Your pre-planned weight loss system may also be customizable, so that you get to choose the foods and type of exercise that you are committed to. These plans work best when you are willing to stick with the program, and are not easily tempted to think that because you planned the diet that it won’t matter if you do not follow it. These types of plans are easy to find, and can meet any specific requirements that you have for dieting or exercise.

Costs of Dieting

Your weight loss system will vary in price according to the system that you choose and the type of programs that you participate in while on the program. For example, you may want to join a gym or invest in a good pair of walking shoes to meet your daily exercise requirement.

The system itself may call for the use of supplements or special foods, as well. There are many different costs associated with dieting, but you don’t have to spend a fortune to lose weight. All that you really need is a system that allows healthy foods and plenty of exercise.

You Don’t Have To Exercise To Burn Calories

Thursday, April 9th, 2009

When you think of exercise, you probably think of treadmills, gyms, and jogging.

You can get physical activity without actually exercising.

Just a good house cleaning burns off a lot of calories-and you get a clean house at the same time.

Treadmills bore me to death and I don’t belong to a gym. I can go on walks, but the weather has to be right. When you take out the cold days, rainy days, and days I’m too busy that doesn’t leave a whole lot of walking days. There are some exercise machines out there that look like they won’t bore the crap out of me, but they are too expensive or I don’t have enough room.

So I look for ways to exercise that aren’t considered exercise.

Sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, doing laundry, dusting, cleaning the bathrooms, taking out trash, all this house cleaning stuff also burns off a good amount of calories. If you spend an entire hour doing nothing but cleaning, you had a good workout.

When going to the store, instead of looking for a parking place in the front, park in the back and walk up and get some extra calories burned off.

There are several ways to burn off calories that aren’t considered “exercise”.
